Blog Number Seventy-Seven: Free Type

Wonderland
“Who
Are
You?”

Spoke the caterpillar to Malice
In the dead of the day
Spoken so softly
But so far away
In the distant land of daydreams
Where monsters come to play
And the ceshire cat’s a demon
With nothing nice to say

“Who
Are
You?”

Where logic is all nonsense
And nonsense is the truth
Where Tweedledee and Tweedledum
No longer have their youth
The white rabbit’s no longer late
Though he has no proof
And the playing cards are watching still
For their suspected sleuth

“Who
Are
You?”

Where the Walrus and the Carpenter
Have gone stark-raving mad
Where the March Hare and company
Are devilishly clad
Where the butter-breadflys flutter
And the Flowers were only a fad
Where the Queen of hearts rules the rose gardens red
As her king remains horribly sad

“Who
Are
You?”

The Where the Mad Hatter’s gained some sanity
And Bill’s still got ladders to shlup
Where the doorknob opens freely
And Alice is all grown-up
Where the bloodhound’s never done sweeping
And the dormouse is still in the cup
And poor old Dodo’s lost at sea
That portal’s caused quite a shakeup

“Who
Are
You?”

“Why, I hardly know, Sir. I’ve changed so much since this morning…”
