Blog Number Twenty-Nine: Free Type

I was filling out an application for something on a website, and I was asked my opinion on a few topics. On the few topics I had to write on, I thought my opinion on this particular topic was the strongest, therefore, I wanted to post it.

Freedom of Expression:

The synonymous term Freedom of Expression is sometimes used to indicate not only freedom of verbal speech but any act of seeking, receiving, and imparting information or ideas, regardless of the medium used. Freedom of Expression does the following: It helps an individual to attain self-fulfillment. It assists in the discovery of truth; It strengthens the capacity of an individual in participating in decision-making; It provides a mechanism by which it would be possible to establish a reasonable balance between stability and social change; It allows all members of society to be able to form their own beliefs and communicate them freely to others. Freedom of Expression is extremely important in this world today. If we were to lose it, who would we be? We'd be no one. Without our opinions and the right to express them, we no longer exist as people.
